Light emerging from matter
a sculptural light by sara alawie
A trace
Nour was created from the dialogue between substance and immateriality, presence and suspension.
A form that holds tension without resolving it, allowing balance to arise quietly.
Nour begins with a trace.
The mark left by a drop of water, fixed in clay.
Through a simple and deliberate gesture, the hand carves concentric circles into the dome, holding the precise moment when the surface begins to transform.
Each circle becomes an echo, a memory, a breath expanding outward.
within
A solid base supports a weightless hemisphere.
Light gathers within, without revealing its source.
Brass finds its balance inside the form, weaving together strength and grace, weight and suspension.
Nothing is exposed. Everything is contained..
remain
Nour does not seek to illuminate a space. It shapes an atmosphere.
An object, and at the same time a threshold.
A warm, diffused, intimate light that invites stillness, observation, and the quiet act of inhabiting time.
