faq
1. What does the name NOUR mean?
NOUR means “light” in Arabic — a word that carries both illumination and presence, reflecting the essence of the piece.
2. How is each NOUR lamp made?
Each piece is handcrafted in stoneware and brass, shaped and finished individually. The brass stem is hand-turned by an artisan, honouring the precision of traditional craft. Brass, a noble and living material, evolves over time, giving each lamp its own unique character.
3. How does the touch control work?
A gentle touch on the brass turns the light on and adjusts its intensity from 5% to 100%, with memory of the last setting.
4. Why doesn’t NOUR reveal its light source?
NOUR was designed to hold light, not to expose it. A hand-crafted brass disc inside the dome houses a circular LED module, concealing the source from view. When seen from below, the effect is that of a glowing hemisphere — a quiet, theatrical presence where light seems to breathe from within.
5. How should NOUR be cared for over time?
Gently clean the brass with a soft dry cloth and avoid chemical products. The natural patina that develops over time is part of its living beauty.
6. What are the delivery times?
Each NOUR lamp is made to order and handcrafted with the time and care it deserves. Production requires approximately 6–8 weeks. “Production is intentionally limited and delivered with a certificate of authenticity, attesting to its uniqueness and artisanal origin.
7. How long does the LED last?
The integrated LED module is designed for longevity. After 85,000 hours of use, at least 50% of the LEDs retain 70% of their original brightness — ensuring a warm, consistent light that endures over time.
